The more I think about it, most of the things I love are about connection.

Travel lets me see how other people live. Food gives me an excuse to sit down with them. Coffee shops give me somewhere to watch them. DJing lets me communicate without talking. And tennis has given me years of conversations with people I probably never would’ve met otherwise.

I’ve played tennis since I was five. Now I coach it, and I’ve learned that the most important part of teaching has almost nothing to do with technique. You have to understand people. How they learn. How they respond to pressure. When they need encouragement. When they need honesty. When they need you to stop talking.

The best work understands people before it asks anything from them.

Outside of that, I’m usually traveling, hunting down a new place to eat, overthinking an outfit, listening to new music, DJing, or trying very hard not to miss whatever my friends are doing.
